SYRAH

This deeply concentrated beauty trounced 399 rivals at the first Annual Wines of Chile Awards to emerge as best in show. It's a fine pedigree, blending Merlot, Carmenere and Cabernet to create a smooth, deeply concentrated wine that's the bee’s knees with Sunday roasts.

This red blend earned 92 points from Wine Enthusiast. It is a blend of Sangiovese Grosso (around 80%), Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

This wine comes from the Rhone Valley in France and is made from a blend of two grapes, Grenache and Syrah (called Shiraz in places like Australia).

The word ‘cotes’ means slopes. This wine is not aged in oak and has flavours of red fruits and perfumery violet notes.

Deep ruby in colour with violet hues. The nose offers black and red berry aromas set off by touches of delicate spice such as black pepper, and other spices, with some hints of vanilla and chocolate resulting from French oak barrel-ageing. The wine has soft tannins, with balanced acidity and a long finish in the mouth.

This wine pairs excellently with Indian, Thai, Mexican and Spanish cuisine and other more complex dishes.  It also goes well with semi-mature cheeses and intensely-flavoured meats such as wild boar and deer.

Only 8,500 bottles were produced of this fascinating blend!

Intense red ruby colour, with black tones. In the nose we find red and black fruits, blackberrys, plums, cassis, and dry figs. Also black pepper and spicies. The oak is present and well integrated, notes of vanilla, tobacco and smoke.

On the palate it has a very nice beggining, intense, with personality and good acidity. Present sweet tannis. It has a very long finish. Persisitent, good structure and body. Because of its structure, this wine allows storage of 10 more years.
