Having all his Nebbiolo vineyards sitiuated within Serralunga, enables winemake Sergio Germano to make characteristically powerful, muscular and intense wines, including the biggest, richest and most long-lived of all Borola.

This wine is classically light in colour but do not be lulled, it is a full bodied wine that has spent a 2 years on oak, this produces with mineral earthy and complex wines with fine grain tannins, with touches of cocoa and hints of violet. The flavours just keep coming in layers, a very complex wine.

2007 was an excellent vintage for this area and Robert Parker has awarded 89 points to this wine.

Great with tomato pasta dishes but really good with lamb.

Ripe, big and polished from one of the most respected winemakers in Istria. Initially restrained the nose opens up with aromas of blackberries, sour cherries and herbaceous notes of tomato leaves. The palate offers vivid acidity, full body and a long length.

Taste: 22.5/25 works exceptionally well with the silky texture early on allowing the malt to again shine. All understated and refined.

Finish: 22/25 toffee aplenty;

Balance: 22/25 how classy.
