Our first online wine of the month is part of our ‘Drinking Outside the Box’ collection and arrives with a bang!
Owner-Winemaker Charles Smith is all wackiness, big hair, comic book labels and kick-ass attitude. In response to the way in which we consume wine today, his philosophy is what he refers to as the ‘Modernist Project’. Charles Smiths’ wines are therefore created to pack a punch, to be enjoyed now, immediately, wines that are balanced, full of flavour and true to their place of origin.
Boom Boom Syrah, is a chunky Syrah, ripe without being sweet, it displays elements of raspberry, tobacco, white pepper and fragrant vanilla. This is definitely a food wine, and with its austere character and strong tannins, it would even give Roast Beef a run for its money!
